buliding brand loyalty September 29, 2008

so the other night i made a quick reference to the fact that i want an Ipevo webcamera…. it was a quick, hurried blog because i was busy, but very excited about having just learned of the Ipevo….

here’s a quick rundown:
640×480 @ 30fps
tiny!
and cheap! 39.99!

well, i didn’t get around to ordering mine that night, and was contemplating putting it off for awhile when i received the following comment on that blog: http://thatoneguynamedbrandon.com/2008/09/25/i-lold/#comments

wait, what?!

a company actually puts forth a little bit of effort to spend a few quality seconds with a customer/potential customer? that exists?! they actually want some feedback?! they are actually excited that I AM excited about their product?

Talk about a way to build brand/customer loyalty in the walmart day in age.

Kudos to you, Ipevo Team! Not only have you secured a customer for life, but you have succeeded in something far greater: making someone who doesn’t even own your product yet, tell all of their friends about what a great company you are.

i apologize if today’s blog seems to be lacking direction…. i couldn’t narrow it down to a specific topic, so i decided to just kind of throw out three or four random things….

first up is a great article that i love to throw in the face of all you losers out there who love to brag about your 4gb of ram and 1gb super macho gpu killer gaming machines:
article [will open in new window]

which leads me to a apple/iphone semi rant:
1) FIX THE DAMN KEYBOARD LAG ALREADY….
2) IMPLEMENT BACKGROUND SERVICES ALREADY SO I CAN USE AIM….
3) Where are all the amazing productivity apps? When the SDK was announced I went to sleep each night dreaming of the amazing wonders that awaited me. I dreamt of controlling anything and everything with my iphone. Is it me, or is it just 98% games? Maybe i’m just not looking in the right places? That being said, here’s what I currently have installed:

anyone who has any good recommendations, please leave me a comment….

and finally, i was having a little bit of a hard time getting started this morning, so i had to power myself up with a super healthy breakfast:
